Time to move

Acrylic | 50x70cm  | 2020

“Time to move” highlights modes of perception and the illusion of freedom within two-dimensional physical triangles. A group of butterflies, standing for freedom, move from one triangle to another through a narrow intersection. Viewed as a whole the triangles come together to shape an hourglass depicting the eternal passage of time. With this optical play of forms and colors I am trying to employ the upper and lower triangles of the hourglass as two different parts of the world. In order to maintain the balance and its continual cycle to complete, it is essential to turn it the other way.
